Offre D’emploi – Field Coordinator For An Impact Evaluation In Benin

FIELD COORDINATOR FOR AN IMPACT EVALUATION IN BENIN
*** Fluent French required***

The World Bank seeks a data collection field coordinator for a randomized impact evaluation of a rural land administration program in Benin, West Africa. The impact evaluation will examine the effects of a program to formalize rural land rights through participatory land demarcation, adjudication, surveying and mapping — followed by the recording of land rights and issuance of certificates to individual landholders.

The consultant will coordinate data collection activities (e.g., finalize sampling design, oversee survey fieldwork, supervise data entry) and conduct statistical analysis of household and community datasets for the impact evaluation. The position will be based in Cotonou, Benin, with frequent travel to rural project areas. The three-month contract will begin in January 2011.

An excellent command of written and spoken French and English is essential for this position. The ideal candidate will be a Master’s level graduate with training in econometrics or a PhD candidate who has completed her/his coursework. The candidate should possess strong problem-solving and organizational skills, have experience with household data collection and analysis, and be familiar with impact evaluation methods. Candidates with knowledge of rural land issues in developing countries (especially in West Africa) and an interest in gender issues are strongly preferred.

To apply, please send a CV (in English or in French) and cover letter to Michael O’Sullivan ([email protected]) by January 10, 2011.
